If we accept that time is an illusion, then everything is happening all at once, causation goes out the window.

Just coincidentally listening to this talk from 1967 this morning.

It is tricky and seems paradoxical because our choices do matter, I would say profoundly. I think of it like this -

When we understand that all moments are concurrent, what matters is not linear causation but resonance and coherence. Our choices matter because they affect our frequency/resonance, which determines what patterns we align with and experience.

Our choices don't "cause" future events in a linear way, but they do determine which patterns we become resonant with and thus what shows up in our experience.

The intelligent engine of consciousness is assembling resonant patterns holistically rather than through step-by-step causation.

serendipity differs?

Interesting question. My initial response is that the word "serendipity" is very similar to what we'd consider a positive synchronicity, though the concept of serendipity seems to assign luck and fortune a greater role. I am trying to move away from concepts of luck and fortune that can be externally oriented to look at the mechanics of creation and the role of our frequency in what shows up. As well as our awareness. Synchronicity and serendipity are happening all the time - we just label it when we notice it and assign it a particular meaning.
